Revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint your ASP by 30 October 2026. Everyone else: by 31 March 2027. Find your deadline

E-Invoicing UAE · Digital Information Solutions

Your ASP sends the invoice. Your Odoo has to produce it.

From 1 January 2027, B2B invoices in the UAE travel as structured data through an Accredited Service Provider. The ASP transmits and validates, but it can only send what your ERP gives it. Missing TRNs, wrong tax codes or a custom invoice layout mean rejected invoices and unpaid customers.

DIS gets your Odoo ready: clean master data, every mandatory field mapped, and a tested connection to the ASP you choose.

Which phase are you in?

Two dates matter: when you appoint an ASP, and when you go live.

Your phase depends on annual revenue. Appointing an ASP is the earlier deadline, and the one most businesses underestimate.

How the invoice travels

Five corners, and Odoo is corner one.

The UAE uses a Peppol-based model. Your invoice never goes straight to your customer or the FTA. Accredited providers validate it, exchange it and report the tax data.

Corner 1

Your Odoo

Creates the invoice with every mandatory field. This is the part DIS builds.

Corner 2

Your ASP

Validates the invoice and sends it on through the Peppol network.

Corner 3

Buyer’s ASP

Receives the invoice and confirms it back to your ASP.

Corner 4

Your customer

Gets a structured invoice straight into their own system.

Corner 5

FTA platform

Receives the tax data from your ASP as the invoice is sent.

If corner one is wrong, nothing downstream can fix it. Most rejected invoices start with ERP data, not the network.

What DIS does

From gap analysis to your first accepted invoice.

Four steps, in this order. The second one takes longest and matters most.

01

Readiness assessment

We map your invoice flows, confirm your phase and list what your Odoo is missing against the mandatory fields.

02

Master-data clean-up

Customer TRNs, tax codes, units of measure and addresses fixed at the source, so invoices pass validation first time.

03

ASP connection

Odoo connected to the Accredited Service Provider you choose, and tested end to end before go-live.

04

Testing and go-live

End-to-end tests with real scenarios, including credit notes, exports and zero-rated lines. Then hypercare after launch.

Not on Odoo yet?

Comply once, not twice.

Running Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho or spreadsheets? You can connect an ASP to your current system, and many businesses will. But if that system already struggles with VAT, multiple currencies or your invoice volumes, the mandate is the natural point to move once instead of patching twice.

Below AED 50 million, you have until 31 March 2027 to appoint an ASP. That is enough time to go live on Odoo first, if you start now.

What moving to Odoo gives you

  • E-invoicing built into the system that raises the invoice
  • VAT, multi-currency and multi-company in one ledger
  • Inventory, sales and purchasing on the same data
  • Fixed-scope implementation with licensing shown separately

Why DIS

ERP people, not just a compliance pipe.

E-invoicing failures usually start in the ERP: bad master data, custom invoice layouts, missing tax logic. An ASP won’t fix those. We do, because we implement Odoo every day.

Fixed-scope packages

The GCC and Africa

The same Peppol-style model is coming to South Africa and other markets. One approach for groups that trade across both.

Questions

What clients ask us first

Does a PDF emailed from Odoo still count as an invoice?

Not once you’re in scope. The legal invoice is the structured XML exchanged through accredited providers. A PDF can still go along as a courtesy copy.

We’re not VAT-registered. Are we affected?

The mandate covers business transactions in the UAE, not VAT registration alone. A readiness check will confirm where you stand.

Do we have to use a particular ASP?

No. You choose from the Ministry of Finance’s accredited providers. We work with the ASP you pick and can help you shortlist one that fits your volumes and your Odoo setup.

Which Odoo versions do you support?

Current Odoo versions on Community and Enterprise, including Odoo.sh and on-premise installs. Older versions are assessed in the readiness check.

How long does it take?

It depends mostly on the state of your master data. The readiness check ends with a dated plan for your business.
